This frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail is everything it should be: a perfect slushy consistency, packed with fruity strawberry flavor, and super easy to make. It combines frozen strawberries, 7 Up, fresh lime juice, a little sugar, and ice. Perfect for adults, kids, and everyone in between!

What Are Mocktails?

A mocktail is short formock cocktail. Basically they mimic alcoholic cocktails without the alcohol. To get the bubbly and carbonated sensation alcohol gives I like to use tonic water and/or bubbly sodas in it’s place.

In this non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri recipe I use 7 UP for the carbonation and lime juice for added flavor. Both the 7 Up and lime juice take place of the alcohol and keeps this drink from tasting like a strawberry smoothie! Trust me, you will never miss the rum!

But if you want a little non alcoholic rum, I recommend Ritual Rum Alternative or Lyre’s Dark Cane Spirit. They taste almost identical to rum but without the alcohol. Seriously life changing!

If you have a lot of strawberries, you may want to try one of my strawberry desserts. I have this simple Strawberry Snack Cake, a fresh Strawberry Blueberry Pie, or these Strawberry Jam Filled Cupcakes if you made fresh jam with your berries. I also love this Strawberry Cream Cheese Icebox Cake from my friend Lynn.

Ingredients For The BEST Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail

I love how simple this mocktail is. All you need is 4 ingredients (5 if you include ice) and a warm day! Below is everything you will need, with a few notes and potential substitutions.

  • Fresh Strawberries: Wash and cut them in small-medium chunks and freeze overnight. Alternatively you can use pre-packaged frozen strawberries.
  • Granulated Sugar: This is used to give sweetness your drink. You can also use cane sugar, simple syrup, turbinado sugar, whatever you prefer.
  • 7 UP: Be sure to chill your soda prior to making the daiquiris to keep the mixture extra cold. If you need to substitute 7 Up, any lemon lime soda will work. For a neutral flavored, low calorie substitute try tonic water, club soda, or mineral water.
  • Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
  • Ice Cubes: This helps to give our daiquiris the perfect frozen slushy consistency.
  • Garnish: Extra Strawberries and Lime Slices

Equipment Needed

  • Blender or Food Processor: I usethis one from Ninjabecause it is high powered and cheaper than most out there. I have had mine since 2018 with zero issues.
  • Glassware: Typically daiquiris are served in hurricane glasses, martini glasses or coupe glasses like you see in my pictures. But any glassware works!
  • Cocktail Pins: I love using them to hold garnishes in place, and they are fairly inexpensive for the visual appeal they add.

How To Make A Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail

This Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail recipe is oh so easy!

1. PREP YOUR STRAWBERRIES- Cut your fresh strawberries into medium sized pieces and place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Throw them in the freezer overnight or until frozen solid.

2. BLEND UP YOUR DAIQUIRIS- Throw everything into your blender (frozen strawberry pieces, granulated sugar, 7 Up, freshly squeezed lime juice, and ice) and blend until smooth.

3. POUR INTO GLASSES AND GARNISH- I recommend adding fresh strawberries to a cocktail pin and hanging lime slices on the rim of your favorite glasses.

PRO TIP!I love to get fancy and sugar the rim of my glass. To do this all you have to do is coat the rim of your glass with lime juice and then roll the rim in granulated sugar.

Troubleshooting Your Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail

This recipe is very simple, but not an exact science, because of the strawberries. Sometimes your daiquiri will need more sugar, more liquid, and maybe even more strawberry. Follow my guide below:

  • Too thick?Add a tablespoon more of 7 Up at a time.
  • Too thin?Add a 1/4 cup more of frozen strawberry chunks or ice at a time.
  • Not sweet enough?Add a 1/2 tablespoon more of granulated sugar at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

I want this to have non alcoholic spirits in it, what should I add?

A classic Strawberry Daiquiri cocktail has rum in it, so substitute the 7 Up for equal parts of your favorite white, spiced, or dark rum. I recommend Ritual Rum Alternative or Lyre’s Dark Cane Spirit. They taste almost identical to rum but without the alcohol. Seriously life changing!

Can I use pre-packaged frozen strawberries instead of fresh frozen?

Of course! If the strawberries are out of season or just too expensive, pre-packaged frozen strawberries work well. Keep in mind you may have to add more sugar since they tend to lack sweetness.

I do not have a blender, what can I do?

For this Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail a food processor works just as well as a blender. You will definitely want a blender or food processor to make this so you have a classic frozen slushy consistency.

Can I use lemon juice instead of lime juice?

Absolutely, lemon will slightly change the flavor but it will still be delicious. Just make sure you are using fresh lemon or lime juice (if you can) the flavors just don’t compare.

Can I make the Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail ahead of time?

I recommend blending these up as you are serving them. This mocktail is a slushy consistency and doesn’t store well in the refrigerator or freezer. Serving it as you drink it, and immediately, is best.
