Binghamton experience was different as a transfer student. I felt like the school was already had there groups. Making friends and finding people were hard. Attending programs I was nervous to talk always left early because everyone was already coming in with there friends. I loved the school and the events once I did connect with others who were transfer students. The food is great! Nightlife is a plus! From the professors I had were always accessible.

Professors are really good and seem passionate about what they teach. It's just my experience with Binghamton has been mostly negative up to this point due to the elitist social structure that exists. It's hard to make friends as a transfer student from upstate because everyone seems to have their pre-established cliques, mostly made up of people who went to high school with each other in Long Island or NYC. Going to clubs is a waste of time unless you already know someone who attends. It's not impossible to make friends, it's just that this university is not the best for it and you may feel socially isolated if you don't already have friends going in.

SUNY Binghamton has provided me opportunities to pursue my dream field in Biotechnology and other applied sciences into industry. Binghamton provided experiences in my outstanding coursework, research laboratories, and other extracurriculars where I have made friends and expanded upon my knowledge. This University has layed out a framework of experience for my current summer internship, graduate school, and my future career. I look forward to my upcoming semester in the Fall, as I know it will bring forth greater challenges which will serve as a stepping stone bringing me closer to my goals.
