There’s nothing quite like the sweet taste of summer sweet strawberries, ripe, plump, and so tasty.
And when the sun shines and you host a summer party, while you may want to make a fruity strawberry daiquiri with alcohol in it, you’ve also got to remember those who don’t or can’t drink.
You want them to feel that you have thought about them just as much as everyone else, don’t you?
Let us introduce you to the sensational summer strawberry daiquiri mocktail with zero alcohol and is totally non-alcoholic.
This is going to be a big hit with your family and friends.
Why is it called a mocktail?
It’s because it’s a facade, it’s mocking the version of the drink with alcohol in.
Is a mocktail the same as a virgin drink?
Yes, they are both non-alcoholic cocktail drinks.
Will I miss the alcohol in a virgin strawberry daiquiri?
We don’t think you will.
We’ve created a fun mocktail recipe that tastes so good, you’ll completely forget that it’s got no alcohol in it!
Can I use frozen strawberries?
Yes, you can, frozen strawberries would work well, especially if you wanted to make a frozen strawberry daiquiri mocktail.
We use fresh strawberries as we don’t think anything can beat the taste of a fresh strawberry.
Can I use lemon juice instead of lime juice?
Absolutely you can. Lemon juice will change the flavor of the drink, but it’ll still be so refreshing and delicious.
Whichever you chose, lime or lemon juice, just make sure it’s freshly squeezed juice, rather than out of a bottle, the flavors don’t compare.
How do I make strawberry puree?
Making smooth fruity strawberry puree is so quick and easy, there’s no cooking involved, it’ll take you 5 minutes and tastes amazing.
Take a look at our strawberry puree recipe to find out how.
What equipment will I need?
To make our virgin strawberry daiquiri recipe you’ll need a blender (but only if you’re going to make your own strawberry puree), a cocktail shaker, a jigger, a Hawthornee strainer, a fine grater, and a juicer.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all these items, take a look at our recipe notes and tips and you’ll find some great alternatives. that you probably already have.
What glasses should I use?
Use a glass with a fairly wide rim, you’ll need a wide rim to take advantage of the lime sugar.
Our virgin strawberry daiquiri is easy to drink, so make sure your glass is not too small or you’ll be filling it up often!
What is a frozen strawberry daiquiri?
A frozen strawberry daiquiri is made when you add all the ingredients to a blender and blend the mocktail instead of shaking it.
You then have crushed ice and your drink has a slush puppy consistency.
You could easily make a frozen strawberry daiquiri mocktail by following our recipe using a blender.
Why do you shake a cocktail?
You shake a cocktail to rapidly mix the ingredients together and to cool it very quickly.
Only shake your drinks with ice cubes, don’t use crushed ice, it’ll make your mocktail way too watery.
Can I make this ahead?
Yes, you can make our virgin strawberry daiquiri drinks ahead.
Simply follow all the instructions but don’t add the lemonade as it will go flat.
Store your partially made mocktail in the fridge and then when it’s ready to serve, give it a stir and add the lemonade.

Recipe notes and tips
- If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, then you can improvise. Simply get a large jar with a lid (a mason jar is perfect), put all the ingredients in and then firmly secure the lid and shake – that’s it!
- No jigger? No problem, just use a measuring jug or if you have a shot glass then use that.
- You will need to strain your strawberry daiquiri mocktail into your glass as you have ice cubes in it, but if you don’t have a Hawthorne strainer then just use a tea strainer or a sieve.
- Make sure you make the sugar rim on your cocktail glass first as you won’t be able to turn it upside down with your virgin strawberry daiquiri in it!
- If you want a light sugar rim, just wipe the lime lightly, if you want a thicker rim then make sure there’s plenty of lime juice wiped on.
- Don’t add lemonade to your mocktail until after you have shaken it, or it’ll go flat.
How do I make it?
Our strawberry daiquiri mocktails are super easy to make if you follow our recipe instructions.
The first thing you need to do is to make your delicious sugar lime rim, it’s a lot easier than you’d think.
Take 3 tablespoons of sugar (don’t worry, you won’t use all of the sugar) and zest ½ a fresh lime into it.
Then, using your hands, make sure that the sugar and lime are perfectly combined.
Next, you’ll need to cut a lime wedge and then run it around the entire rim of your cocktail glass.
Now turn your glass upside down and on a flat plate or surface, swirl your glass in the sugar until it’s coated.
Then you are ready to start building your virgin strawberry daiquiri!
First, add ice cubes to your cocktail shaker, then add 150ml of strawberry puree.
Next, add 25ml of sugar syrup followed by 25ml of fresh lime juice.
Now firmly secure the lid of your cocktail shaker and shake the liquid and ice for approximately 20 seconds.
Using a Hawthorne strainer, pour your mocktail into your cocktail glass and then top up with lemonade or club soda water.
